This video, we're going to talk about site migration. So the idea here is if you have a WishList Member install on one site and you want to migrate it to another domain, or maybe you have a testing environment that you're building everything on, and then you want to migrate it to your actual live production site, then this is something that can help you do that.

So the idea here is that we are going to export and then import our WishList Member settings. There are two options for this. The first one is membership levels. If you just want to export your membership levels and all the settings that you've set for all of those individual membership levels, then you would select just this one.

Then you can select which membership levels you want to export so you don't have to export all of them. You can select one or two, or you can select all, clear all, etc.

We'll just select the gold here, for example. That will take that level, all of its settings, and it will create an export file.

Now, if you want to include all of the WishList Member settings across the board, which includes what's in the advanced options and content protection and all of the global settings, really everything that's inside WishList Member, then you would also check this setting, and then that will export those settings as well. It will include them into the export file.

Now, a couple of things to keep in mind. First off, the export file that is created here is specific to WishList Member. So this is a site migration. This is moving one Wishlist Member install, essentially, to another. So the download file that you're going to get will only be useful for use inside of WishList Member. It's not going to be useful for exporting to another system or anything like that. This is specifically for WishList Member.

Also in this setup, the export file that is created here will only be compatible with WishList Member 3.0 or higher. So with WishList Member 3.0, we changed the way that we did this a little bit to make it a little bit more useful. And so you will not be able to take an export file from WishList Member that you've created here in WishList Member 3.0 and go back and say and import it into something like 2.9 and vice versa.

So again, this export file will only be compatible with WishList Member 3.0 or higher.

So once you do that, you can go ahead and select export settings, and that's going to export it.

I'm just going to go ahead and download that here into this folder, and you'll see it down here in the bottom left.

And now, in this case, I'm just going to click over to import settings. But in your case, you'd be going to your new site that you want to import this into. You would come into administration > site migration  > and you would go into import settings and now you would find the file.

And here it is right here, what we just did. And we'll go ahead and open that and hit Import settings, and that will now import all of those settings into your site.

So I'm not going to do it here just because this is our demo site here, and these settings are already set. But just hit import settings and it will import the levels and all the global settings and set them accordingly.

So it's really that straightforward when it comes to exporting one WishList Member install to another.
